The road to Wyalusing: This is home!
It has been a long journey! Friday we spent the entire day flying from Sacramento, CA to Philadelphia, PA. It was Gracie & Charlie Joy’s first times flying on an airplane. Gracie loved it! The first flight she spent the first 40 minutes excitedly saying how fun it was to fly (she really enjoyed taking off). Joy, on the other hand, wanted to get down and run around. Since I wouldn’t let her out of my arms, she was pretty frustrated and let everyone know it.

My mother-in-law, Nancy, met us at the hotel and had dinner waiting. We ate a big meal, the girls took a bath and put on clean pj’s, I got a hot shower, and we all fell fast asleep! The next day we didn’t get on the road to Wyalusing until the afternoon. We made several stops along the way and it felt like we would never be there!

We drove a few minutes down the road, took a left (or maybe it was a right?), and there was our beautiful new house! The girls all ran in with excitement. Rushing through each room onto the next as they couldn’t contain themselves with happiness. I slowly made my way through, examining each room, picturing where I’ll put the furniture and how I’ll arrange everything. The home, our home, was so inviting. I felt a sense of peace and joy rush over me (and gratitude) as I realized: This. Is. Home.
During our layover, baby Joy fell asleep within minutes and slept until it was time to get back on the last flight of our trip. She was much happier this flight. She played quietly while Gracie slept. I thought we were in the clear until the last 30 minutes of the flight Joy decided to scream until we finally landed. Oh my! This mama was tired and so ready to be done with planes, airports, luggage, and cranky babies. We eventually got all of our luggage. Hauled it to the hotel shuttle and made our way to the hotel.

Finally, after several days of long travel I saw the beautiful sign to Wyalusing welcoming us with open arms! I couldn’t help but smile as I was so excited to finally arrive in this adorable, inviting town we are blessed to call home.
